Airline Transport Pilot Program
(part of our Career Pilot Program)

Atlantic Airways can help you continue your aviation career with our Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) training program.  The FAA has set the following requirements for the ATP:


To be eligible for an airline transport pilot certificate, you must:

  1. Be at least 23 years of age.
  2. Be able to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
  3. Be of good moral character.
  4. Have at least 1,500 hours of flight time (several other hours categories are also specified)
  5. Hold at least a commercial pilot certificate and an instrument rating.
  6. Meet the aeronautical experience requirements that apply to the aircraft category and class rating sought.
  7. Pass the knowledge test.
  8. Pass the practical test.

To exercise the privileges of an airline transport pilot certificate, you must hold a current first-class medical certificate. This is a summary of the requirements that can be found in CFR Part 61.153.  Let Atlantic Airways continue your professional pilot career!
